Wichita, Kansas is the largest city in the state of Kansas. Known as the 'air capital', the aircraft industry gave a new lease of life to the period of depression in 1890s. Today, with a booming oil industry, cattle industry and tourism, it has become a prime economic hub in Kansas. Situated on the confluence of the Big and the Little Arkansas rivers, Wichita, Kansas is represented by the magnificent statue of Keeper of the Plains, a 5 ton, 44 foot tall sculpture, created by the well-known artist Blackbear Bosin. It is a symbol of pride for the inhabitants of the city.

Known for its extreme weather conditions, Wichita has grown tremendously over the past decade. It is home to people from many ethnic communities, adding to the diverse and rich culture of the city. Commerce and customs of the people have merged in a way that has now become a part of the legend of Wichita, Kansas.
